OpenAI’s New ChatGPT Agent
OpenAI’s New ChatGPT Agent: The All‑Purpose AI Assistant
OpenAI has unveiled a new ChatGPT agent, which is more than just a PowerPoint generator—it’s a virtual browser that places cupcake orders, fills forms, creates PowerPoint and Excel files, and tackles tasks that would otherwise take you hours. As Isa Fulford notes: “I ordered a lot of cupcakes—it took almost an hour, but it was easier than doing it myself.”
This agent combines the web-browsing Operator features and deep-research capabilities. It’s available now for Pro, Plus, and Team subscribers—Pro users get up to 400 agent prompts per month, others 40. Enterprise and Education users will join this summer.
Why AI Agents Matter in the Workplace
These ai agents save time and boost productivity. Tasks like parsing Excel and generating investor deck from NVIDIA’s earnings report take about 25 minutes—quick and efficient.
Security and User Control by Design
The agent avoids “risky” sites (like finance or social media), includes a "watch mode" for step-by-step user oversight, and memory features are disabled initially to prevent prompt injection attacks—ensuring responsible AI governance.
